About Us

Get To Know Us!

This Is 4 My Girlz, Inc., a San Antonio-based nonprofit organization, has been empowering young women since its establishment in 2015. Operating under 501(c)3 status, the organization dedicates itself to fostering personal development among young girls ages 8-17 and offering streamlined support for young women 18-24 transitioning into adulthood — all while promoting the inherent value of women's lives across all demographics.

At the heart of our mission lies a comprehensive approach to youth development through various community initiatives.  Our community initiatives include workshops led by "The Community Godmothers" - respected community leaders and liaisons who conduct specialized workshops and training sessions. These events cover a diverse range of essential life skills and personal development areas, including charm school etiquette, personal safety awareness, college prep, and career development guidance. Group bonding activities are also conducted regularly as team-building exercises to promote sisterhood, open dialogue alongside our podcast series, and emotional connection between participants, all while developing collaboration, leadership, and social skills.

Our organization thrives through the incredible support of our community and sustainable growth driven by diversified funding — awarded grants, fundraising projects, generous donor contributions, corporate sponsorships, and membership dues. This strong foundation allows us to continue our strategic annual fundraising events and themed donation drives, including heartfelt initiatives like "Rise Above The Noise" t-shirt campaign encouraging positive mental health and "Affirmations in Color" (physical coloring books that little speak life in living color). After ten years of passionately serving our community, this comprehensive approach reflects the profound impact we've made together and our exciting continued growth.

What Sets Us Apart?

What sets This Is 4 My Girlz apart is our holistic approach to female empowerment. Rather than focusing solely on academic or professional development, we recognize the importance of addressing multiple aspects of personal growth. Our programs are designed to build GODFIDENCE, develop practical skills, and create a supportive network for young women as they navigate their path to adulthood.

This Is 4 My Girlz, Inc.'s commitment to community involvement reflects a deep understanding that successful youth development requires collective effort. By engaging community leaders as mentors and role models, we create meaningful connections that extend beyond traditional educational boundaries. These relationships provide participants with real-world insights, guidance, and support from established professionals who understand their challenges and aspirations.

The organization's impact extends beyond individual development to create a network of empowered young women who understand the importance of supporting and celebrating each other. Through structured activities and informal gatherings, we foster an environment where sisterhood thrives and each member's unique contributions are valued and celebrated. Innovative tactics, cultural influence, and creative expression embodies our efforts to, not only make an imprint on the lives of our youth, but stride as a leading organization that stands out from the rest.

Our motto, adapted from Proverbs 22:6, emphasizes our focus on female empowerment: "It takes a village to: train up a child in the way SHE should go; When SHE gets older, SHE will not depart from it." This creative adaptation, referred to as "Prov(HER)bs," highlights our commitment to creating a supportive community environment specifically tailored to young women's needs and aspirations.

Impact, Empower, Inspire, & Thrive

Our impact extends beyond individual development to building core values and character, shaping future leaders from the inside-out through comprehensive personal safety programs and holistic development initiatives.

Our character and personal development foundation includes our Charm School Workshop which builds confidence through essential life skills and etiquette training, "Girlz with Dreams Become Women with Vision" Tea Party partnered by DreamWeek San Antonio that teaches refined table etiquette while discussing professional aspirations, "SiSTARS CIRCLE" promoting sisterhood through group bonding activities, and also hosting a mini-podcast series to vocalize authentic conversations and topics affecting today's youth.

Creative expression and cultural empowerment thrive through our "Passion 4 Fashion" Show which engages youth through fashion, music, and performance, our "Rhythm & Girlz" Step Team fostering discipline and cultural connection that creates strategic portals to HBCU interests, increasing college tour engagement and strengthening desires for higher education while enhancing future socioeconomic advancement, and HBCU College Tours connecting participants with educational opportunities at historically black institutions.

Professional and academic excellence drives our "GOAL MAP: Road 2 Success" program propelling young adults (18-24) who are transitioning from childhood to adulthood through a comprehensive training that includes professional development, interview coaching, financial literacy, wealth building, resume writing, SAT tutoring, business formation, and scholarship resources.

Community service and engagement flourish through various volunteer projects that build collaborative skills. "Stuff-The-Purse" Project is our flagship initiative providing hygiene products and care packages to women and youth in need, while "Unity In The Park" CommUNITY Field Day promotes wellness and intergenerational bonding. With outstanding participation, exclusive members earn recognition through our "QUEENDOM Awards." Academic achievement is supported by our "GeneSIS Scholarship Foundation" helping "SiSTARS" break generational cycles through education and entrepreneurship.

Our signature events showcase impact through "The Summit Jam" (annual 3-day citywide youth conference), featuring workshops, panels, talent expo, networking mixers, and the "We Are One" Gala honoring community leaders in a banquet setting, plus the annual costume-themed "Fall Charity Ball" celebrating our mission, vision, and growth with community partners.

Our Commitment. Our Purpose. Our Promise.

This Is 4 My Girlz is committed to representing a dynamic force in youth development, creating comprehensive programs that address the multiple facets of young women's growth and success. Our heart-posture exemplifies the power of community-based organizations in shaping the next generation of female leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

Our purpose combines practical skill development with emotional support, creating a foundation for lifelong sisterhood and mutual success. Through these comprehensive programs, we promise to continually create a supportive ecosystem where young women learn to lift each other up, celebrate collective achievements, and build lasting bonds.

"We're creating the village for every girl who needs it."
